STATEMENT
The making of art for me is a process of searching and note-taking. The more I draw and paint, the more I learn, or at least have the opportunity to explore. I see the studio process as a search into the mysterious border where the physical meets the mystical. I methodically build images as a visual expression of contrasts between the appearance of natural forms and what they have come to symbolize. My images are made with an expectation that unique interpretations will invariably be assigned by the rotation of random viewers.

The images I work with come from rambling daily walks and hikes of both my neighborhood and my travels. My solitary wanderings bring me to those wild places where the world is both ordered and chaotic. On that horizon of opposites I find the metaphors and the narrative for living a life.
